Piano Refinishing

Jake Mesaros of Applegate Furniture Repair specializes in pianos. His is one of the few shops that offers the fine hand rubbed satin lacquer finishes that are found on American made pianos. He also does a fine job with the less expensive rubbed effect lacquer spray finish. Jake prides himself on being thorough and pays attention to details.

Jake stocks a wide variety of veneers and can repair most damaged areas. He routinely reproduces missing case parts.

Inside the piano the plate and soundboard can also be refinished. The raised metal letters on the plate are then hand painted. Decals are applied to fallboards, plates, and soundboards.

Applegate also will move pianos depending on size and the number of steps involved. He is always careful to protect floors and doorways. If the move is something he won’t handle he will refer you to an excellent associate.

Beside pianos Jake restores and refinishes all kinds of furniture. He also builds new furniture and adapts old ones for other uses.
